The oize
1h00
220m
Easy
13Km
Waypoint N° 11
Here's a true blue that explores the Oize valley, passing through the eponymous hamlet and the Moulin des Près.
On the outward journey, "greenhouse" paths and trails (greenhouses are elongated mountain ridges) offer some lovely panoramas and lead to the aptly named "pont sans eau" (bridge without water) (km 8). This bridge spans not a river, but a small pass. The ensuing descent, fast and fun, leads down to the valley floor to the bucolic riverside hamlet of OIze.
The route continues on a track that borders the vast green meadows at the bottom of the valley, then rises through the pine forest to reach the start.
Along the way, a number of grippy sandstone boulders and slabs provide an interesting playground for maneuverability, located 500 m after the hamlet of Fromenteyrol (km 4.5) and at the crossroads just before the hamlet of Champestève (km 11.7).
Sandron

11Km
Waypoint n° 12
This short but technical loop takes in the Sandron valley and invites you to discover historic sites such as the castrum d'Ucel (km 7.3 - fortified village also known as "Viel Ucel" or "Grand village") and the enigmatic Ermitage d'Ucel (km 8.3). The itinerary follows old built-up roads, one of which is particularly challenging, winding its way from Fromenteyrol to the valley floor, putting your driving skills to the test.
At Castrum d'Ucel (km 7.3), the loop offers a more direct return to St Julien via Ermitage d'Ucel, while loop N°13 is a longer variant and continues the adventure all the way to the banks of the Ardèche (voie verte connection). Take your time to explore the narrow streets of the castrum, but be careful as the area is inhabited.
This is a fairly shady loop, so even when the sun is high in the sky, you'll still be able to ride.

Waypoint n° 13
This loop is a long variant of loop N°12, following the same route up to km 7.3.
It then offers the chance to extend the adventure as far as the voie verte d'Ucel, along the banks of the Ardèche river, but does not include a visit to the Ermitage d'Ucel.
Portions on tarmac and a passage on a limestone hillside very exposed to the heat at the end of the route make it an itinerary to be preferred in cool weather.
Boulogne

27Km
Waypoint N° 14
It's a passport to discovering the Boulogne and Oize valleys and the Château de Boulogne, proud guardian of the Barony since the Middle Ages.
The itinerary is very rolling, with the exception of a few more technical - and above all playful - descents, such as the Chemin du facteur (km 5.2), the single under Le Taillé (km 14.8) or under the hamlet of Les Crottes (km 23.8).
The climbs are all winding and fairly shady. A particular highlight is the passage at the foot of the castle ramparts, but keep your pace under control - it's a busy place! The loop is connected to the mountain bike loops starting from Vesseaux, so you can put together your own itinerary as you wish.
